Delia (known as Delilah the Beauty in the Japanese version) is a character and boss from Silhouette Mirage. He is fought at the end of the fourth stage, Machonom.

Appearance[]

Delia is a slim man with pale skin. His curly green hair covers his eyes, and his mouth is usually caught in a smug expression. His nose is sharp and pointed, and he has very large nostrils. His outfit consists of a green suit with a yellow belt and shoes, a yellow coat with red accents and green cuffs, and a red scarf around his neck.

Personality[]

Delia is described as an important figure of Media City, and that reputation plays into his attitude: he considers himself high-class, and his desires are not to be taken lightly. He shows frustration when things do not go his way, most notably with his chauffeur Samson. He seems to not prefer engaging in physical combat, as seen during his boss fight, likely due to being a Mirage.

Story[]

Delia appears throughout the Machonom stage, initially ordered by Hal to stop Shyna. He first appears with Samson where he is being driven to the Broadcast Facility, telling the citizens of Media City to lure the Messenger to his destination. After Shyna lands on the roof of his car, Delia orders his servant to check the noise, initiating Samson's boss fight.

After Samson is defeated, Delia realizes the noise was his target, and they have a brief conversation before the vehicle crashes into the Broadcast Facility. From there, Delia retreats into his dining quarters, with Shyna only catching up once she beats Faust and Sara. Upon meeting again, Delia reveals his plan to Shyna: to defeat her live on his cooking show, 'Stock Sniffers'. Once Shyna defeats him, Delia lays unconscious on his table as the soup causes the building to explode.

NA Manual Description[]

As the star attraction of Media City, he uses all of the information services - TV, radio, and Internet - to keep all the "little people" under his control.

Strategy[]

Delia's boss fight is not so straightforward as most of the other battles have been. As he is in the background, he is out of reach from all of Shyna's regular attacks. The key to his defeat lies in the large bowl of soup that spans most of the arena. Gehena reveals that the broth matches the attribute of its ingredients, and it will either power up or harm whoever eats it based on their attribute. Since Delia is a Mirage, Shyna must simply find a way to change the soup's attribute to Silhouette.

At each end of the bowl of soup are two platforms, where Specters will appear with ingredients to throw into the bowl before attempting to leave the way they came. If Shyna grabs and throws them into the bowl, the soup will gradually change to Silhouette, as indicated by its color. Pay attention to how many Specters throw their ingredients into the soup, as they will change the attribute back to Mirage. The bowl also rests on an open flame, which causes it to rise and fall, and over a bottomless pit, which will damage Shyna if she falls in.

While fighting, the soup constantly emits bubbles based on the current attribute, which Delia will periodically inhale. If they are Silhouette, he will take damage, and if they are Mirage, he will gain some spirit. If he maxes out his spirit meter, Delia will unleash a long lasting and powerful energy beam attack which is very difficult to avoid, before his spirit resets. He may also add salt to the soup which changes it back to Mirage.

Trivia[]

  • Delia's name references the biblical Delilah, a woman who convinced Samson into revealing the secret to his strength.
    • This reference is more explicit in the Japanese version.
  • Dialogue in-game hints that Serah is/was Delia's wife.
    • The title of Serah's boss theme is 'Your Wife is an Angel' which adds to this theory.
