Jelly-Chan is a boss from Stretch Panic and one of Linda's twelve sisters. She can be fought after the first batch of sisters is defeated; it costs three points to initially enter her arena.

Appearance[]

Jelly-Chan is a smooth, green, translucent blob with a noticeable nose and lips. Her eyes are white with red rings and blue pupils.

Manual Description[]

Jelly-Chan has a great weakness for cakes and candy. Rather than give them up to loose weight, she embraced the 'big is beautiful' philosophy. The demons took this belief to a ridiculous extreme transforming her into a giant, gluttonous blob! Now Jelly-Chan is hungrier than ever, and in her new form she can absorb and eat anything she touches. Thanks to her spongy body Jelly-Chan is resistant to regular attacks. Look to the skies for inspiration.

Strategy[]

Jelly-Chan is fought on a floating island covered with dead trees and boulders, with dark storm clouds overhead. She takes up a large portion of the ground, leaving her open to easy attacks and Scarf Bombs. If she falls out of the arena, she will leap back onto solid ground, damaging Linda if she crushes her. She may also suddenly charge forward.

When stretched or hit with a regular attack, Jelly-Chan's eyes will pop out of her body and start hovering around Linda. If they are not grabbed and thrown back into the boss, they will shoot lasers at Linda which deal light damage. The boulders around the arena can be absorbed by Jelly-Chan, and after a moment they are thrown at Linda to inflict damage. Jelly-Chan can also directly absorb Linda herself, causing her to flail around inside the gelatinous blob before being spit out and taking heavy damage.

During the fight, lightning will periodically strike random spots in the arena, which can damage either Linda or Jelly-Chan. While there is a small chance for Jelly-Chan to line up and be struck naturally, the preferred method is to stretch the top of her head upward before it strikes. This will guarantee the lightning to hit her, similarly to a lightning rod. There are two types of lightning strikes: yellow causes medium damage, and red causes heavy damage.

Quotes[]

  • "Now I'm really mad!" (before charging forward)
  • "Here, take this." (when throwing a boulder, also after spitting out Linda)

Trivia[]

  • Jelly-Chan's name comes from jelly, referring to her form, and the Japanese honorific 'chan' which is used for children and girls.
  • In prerelease screenshots, the sky in Jelly-Chan's arena was bright blue instead of cloudy.
    • In further prerelease screenshots, Jelly-Chan was colored blue instead of green.
