Mitsuru Yaida, more commonly known as Yaiman, is a programmer and founding member of Treasure, and one of its most prolific directors.
He worked on several high-profile sequels at Konami's console division, including Super Castlevania IV and Contra III: The Alien Wars, on which he collaborated with fellow Treasure founder Hideyuki Suganami. He has been one of Treasure's longest constantly active members, along with President Masato Maegawa and composer Norio Hanzawa.
Yaida was born in 1965 and learned to program as a teenager on home computers. A fan of arcade action games, he developed homebrew games for the Sharp X-1. It was also on this platform that he would discover the game Hover Attack, published as a type-in program in a programming magazine. This would later serve as the inspiration for one of his most personal games, Bangai-O.
